Dear all,
You all should have received the email below. Please read it carefully.

Amber underlined to Chairs the importance of being on time every day, for complying with security regulations of the NIST and HCHB.
Please consider arriving no later than 8:10 for having enough time for passing security checks, and take seat.

It is my intention to start at 8:45 sharp, and rather have more time for breaks and lunch, for then finishing sharp at 5pm.

Regards

Subject: [CCSDS-All] CCSDS SPRING 2024 TECHNICAL PLENARY - WELCOME LETTER

Welcome to the CCSDS Spring 2024 Technical Plenary hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the United States Department of Commerce Herbert C. Hoover Building (HCHB) in Washington, DC!

Enclosed are details to prepare for your arrival next Monday, 29 April.

HERBERT C. HOOVER BUILDING VISITOR PROCEDURES/ARRIVAL PROCESS
Please plan to arrive at the 14th street visitor entrance (350 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20230). Registration opens at 800AM each day beginning on Monday, 29 April. Please plan to arrive between 8:00-8:15AM for the Opening Plenary, and at least 30 min in advance of your working group agenda each day. There will likely be a large amount of CCSDS-ers arriving simultaneously each day and there could be delays in entry, we thank you for your patience as there may very well be a line to enter the building. Upon arrival at the HCHB, there will be a 3-4 min security screening process that will require you to provide government-issued photo identification and a search/scan of your bag(s) and electronic devices. Please be sure to have proper identification with you to avoid delays and/or being denied access into the building. For more details regarding this process, please visit: https://www.commerce.gov/osy/field-offices/hchb-security/visitors

After the security screening, attendees will be greeted by members of the CCSDS and NIST team at the registration table to sign in and receive name badging and meeting materials. At the registration table, on Monday, escorts will be assigned to working groups 10 visitors to 1 escort.

*THE HCHB SECURITY SCREENING PROCESS APPLIES TO ANYONE WHO DOES NOT HOLD A CURRENT DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE BADGE.

OPENING PLENARY VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION
Credentials to join the opening plenary online via MS Teams will be provided later in the week.

COFFEE/BEVERAGES/SNACKS/LUNCH
Coffee/tea/water will be complimentary during the Opening Plenary only.

The visitor security process is required for re-entry into the Hoover building after exiting for any reason. Please be prepared to undergo the security process if re-entering the building after lunch. If you plan to stay onsite for lunch, there are pop-up restaurants on the lower level of the HCHB on Tues-Thurs with online/mobile ordering available through the Fooda app<https://www.fooda.com/consumer-tech-features>. Additionally, there is a tunnel into the Ronald Regan building<https://rrbitc.com/dining/> where there is a large food court area with many options - the re-entry process applies when leaving the Regan building via tunnel and returning to the Hoover building. There is a mini food market located on the 5th floor of HCHB where you will find a Farmers' Fridge vending machine<https://www.farmersfridge.com/locations/dc-us-dept-of-commerce/menu/> and coffee/tea/beverages are available for purchase, card only (no cash accepted). There is limited seating available near the mini food market, first-come, first-served.
