Subject: RE: [SLS-CC] C&S - Spring 2024 preliminary agenda and inputs
Hi all,
please find attached a preliminary agenda for C&S activities, with the following proposal:
* Wednesday morning: C&S WG only
* Wednesday afternoon: joint C&S/OPT (with optional attendance of SLP) with focus on TF slicing activities + usage of Optical codes for RF links
* Thursday morning: joint RFM/SLP/C&S with focus on S-Band proximity
* Thursday afternoon: joint RFM/C&S with focus on VCM and link budget topics
I put in CC chairs of SLP, OPT, and RFM, for letting them inform respectively their WGs, and let me know possible changes to be done.
@Andrews, Kenneth S (US 332B)<mailto:kenneth.s.andrews at jpl.nasa.gov>: notice that I proposed your input on TF slicing to be presented twice, one for discussion in C&S, where we can discuss more about 131.0-B nomenclature, length of frames, etc. as per January's comments. The second presentation instead will be also with OPT WG, where we can discuss more on the TF slicing implementation in 131.0-B.
@Hamkins, Jon<mailto:Jon.Hamkins at jpl.nasa.gov>: let me know if you or OPT WG wants to present something on Wednesday afternoon, that I can easily adapt the Agenda
Finally, concerning inputs, the full set together with final Agenda will be available on CWE at https://tinyurl.com/CCSDSSpring2024<https://eur05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftinyurl.com%2FCCSDSSpring2024&data=05%7C02%7CAndrea.Modenini%40esa.int%7Cad8c0f04dc4143b6e12908dc5966ee38%7C9a5cacd02bef4dd7ac5c7ebe1f54f495%7C0%7C0%7C638483545836157125%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=A%2BKjW6WVyRANcjykTIbS4RivOMYhkUe1UWk7j4iab%2F0%3D&reserved=0> (C&S WG private folder, requires login) starting from April 15th .
A couple of inputs are already in the folder.

Subject: [SLS-CC] C&S - Spring 2024 agenda - please read
Dear all,
Based on the input announcement, you can find the list of presentations that will be given this Spring meeting.
In the following days I will prepare the Agenda accordingly. Please let me know if I should have missed anything.
Please don't forget to send the final version of your input by no later than April 12th , COB
On top of this, I have to raise a major issue.
ESA ESTEC had to officially report that this year there was a severe budget cut for supporting CCSDS activities and attend the Spring meeting, and potentially also the next Fall meeting.
This already impacted our WG activities: namely, Nicola M./ESA attendance to Spring 2024 was not approved by ESA on-time, and with that, Nicola will be unable to complete his actions of presenting an update for the S-Band Proximity-1 blue books. This clearly will delay our WGs' activities for the S-Band proximity-1.
In my role of Chair (that shall be balanced with my other role of ESA ambassador), I am in the opinion that we need to dedicate an Agenda Item for discussing the issue, possible fallbacks, and decide if the WG should report it formally to SLS AD/CESG for possibly reaching CMC.
