Hi All,

The variable length Space Data Link Protocols (SDLP) are not coupled to the selection of code block length. It’s the fixed length frame SDLPs that are impacted (AOS, TM, USLP [fixed length variant] ) by this proposed change. USLP would need to be updated only because of the way the C&S interface section is specified in the USLP blue book. It calls out specific C&S specifications that apply to fixed length USLP frames vs variable length USLP frames. Prox-1 and TC are exclusively variable length transfer frame protocols and have separate C&S blue book specifications, so there is no change to the TC SDLP or Prox-1 SDLP.

Hi Andrea,

I’m glad to see this project moving ahead since it will “normalize” the availability of slicing across the several CCSDS C&S books and put all of the necessary details in one place. As noted, this has the effect of simplifying these four C&S documents.

Unless I am mistaken, it also will prompt the update of the four existing SLS space data link protocol books, since they can now state that the selection of the data link frame length is a separate concern from the selection of the codeblock length. I’ve proposed some edits to your concept paper that reflect this. Let me know if this makes sense to all of you.

Best regards, Peter

Sorry, I sent the wrong version of the file for the concept paper.

Please find in attachment the correct one, that includes also the prototyping, and some minor editorials (like the inclusion of JAXA as monitoring agency).

Sorry for the mistake,

Regards

Dear all,
I received only a couple of comments from Shannon for the MoM, and from Gilles about the Concept paper for Slicing.
These were integrated as tracked-change as reported in attachment.

If there are no objections in considering these as final, you can find the final MoM and concept papers on https://tinyurl.com/mxcpaeas<https://urldefense.us/v3/__https:/eur05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https*3A*2F*2Ftinyurl.com*2Fmxcpaeas&data=05*7C01*7CAndrea.Modenini*40esa.int*7Cdf86bcebf3924d00399908dad21c694d*7C9a5cacd02bef4dd7ac5c7ebe1f54f495*7C0*7C0*7C638053316720697748*7CUnknown*7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0*3D*7C3000*7C*7C*7C&sdata=zoKfpyLbuTebAcUekNbhVxctu4dnlVhs0qdzuaz*2F*2FpU*3D&reserved=0__;JSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJQ!!PvBDto6Hs4WbVuu7!fzXUFNxfKA_miYiFeYcZj65qvuGcnBnKXkXdzgkfEn6TfxbvrGQgivNQa6r5PuMMTXMS-tkN$>, while list of AIs https://tinyurl.com/79rpnp6n<https://urldefense.us/v3/__https:/eur05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https*3A*2F*2Ftinyurl.com*2F79rpnp6n&data=05*7C01*7CAndrea.Modenini*40esa.int*7Cdf86bcebf3924d00399908dad21c694d*7C9a5cacd02bef4dd7ac5c7ebe1f54f495*7C0*7C0*7C638053316720697748*7CUnknown*7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0*3D*7C3000*7C*7C*7C&sdata=cGNSEvgIcshD79gdWgv1EJnbDh97ZkJ2cIRChgBOVGA*3D&reserved=0__;JSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSUlJSU!!PvBDto6Hs4WbVuu7!fzXUFNxfKA_miYiFeYcZj65qvuGcnBnKXkXdzgkfEn6TfxbvrGQgivNQa6r5PuMMTUrl5RYX$>.

Dear C&S Working Group,
Following our meeting in Toulouse you can find the following items in attachment:
-draft MoM
-Concept paper for Slicing shim book (CS_Status – Annex – Concept_paper_slicing.docx)
-Concept paper ISN magenta book (Concept_Paper_LunarISN.docx)
-Material from CESG discussion about LunarISN that lead to the task of implementing and ISN magenta book

  * Email of Peter and Klaus-Jorgen to CESG members + WG chairs, summarizing the CESG discussion
  *   Presentation done by Peter

I kindly ask if you can review the material, and let me know if you have any comment. Afterwards, I will issue the final MoM, and send the concept papers to SLS AD for approval of the projects.

In terms of timeline, could you let me know if you have any comment no later than 14 November EOB?

@OPT/SLP/RFM chairs + SLS ADs, your in CC for the followings (in case you or your WGs have comments):

  * VLFs minutes (inside draft MoM) + Concept paper about slicing -> for OPT/SLP
  * S-Band proximity-1 minutes (inside draft MoM) + Concept Paper ISN + Material about Lunar ISN -> for RFM/SLP
