Hi Wai,
for simulations that perform also the acquisition, I agree with you.

However, if we need to perform error rate measurements in tracking
conditions, we usually do a very long simulation that covers in duration
several passes, and adding the acquisition every time would be a burden
for the test.
At least this is the approach that we adopt for error rate measurements in
our simulations and testing of actual units.

Andrea,

I guess we don't fully understand why you would want to make the profile
continuous, i.e. without discontinuities. A LEO pass will need to acquire
at the beginning of every pass. If you try to keep it continuous you are
essentially maintaining lock through multiple passes. This is not an
accurate model and does not apply enough stress to the system.

Hi all,
 I have a single comment.

The proposal looks good with me. I was however wondering, how to simulate
multiple passes without introducing discontinuities in the simulation.
Could we simply add a time replica of the curve in Figure-1, upside-down?
Or does it cause discontinues on its derivative?

Dear WG members,

in response to AI_20_05, Wai Fong and his colleagues have provided the
following Doppler model
(you can also find it in CWE, under C&S/CWE private/On-going work).
Could you please provide your comments, if any, in order to integrate in
the overall simulation model being developed (to be eventually shared with

the RFM WG as well)?

Best regards,
Massimo
