[SIS-MIVA] Notes -- Remote Meeting Spring 2026

Hello Folks,
it took a while but here are the notes (thanks Beth!) from the last remote meeting we held as replacement for the in-person Spring 2026 Meeting.

 Agenda:
1. RTP over DTN Blue Book / Yellow Book - finalization/re-wording => BB is stuck in the editorial process.
2. Video Quality -       review status of the work, open video recordings,
                                    general open discussion on the direction
                                    (Video availability, Subjective VQ Test)
3. Voice Books -          Review: test assignment and time planning
4. Wrap Up -               general time planning (Remote Summer Meeting, Targets we want to reach before Fall Meeting)

Overall, not (much) progress in the topics. In general, the participants were bound in other tasks.

  *   Topic 1:  RTP over DTN
Falk reviewed language for RTP over DTN, Joshua Deaton provided consideration in edits and completed the topic.  Falk will send edits forward for inclusion.
Additional rephrasing, was done offline, between Joshua Deaton and Falk, rephrased paragraphs, were sent to Tomaso, who will take care to hand-in the BB for publication.

  *   Topic 2: Video Quality
What is status of recording test material?  NASA Jeremy Myers noted crew in vehicle clip (Red 24 data) is not obtained yet.  Looking for content from A2 (Beth will talk with NASA teams, Josiel will look for content on his side.  Worst case, Jeremy Myers will collect content when they are at the Orion mock up at JSC in July.
Summary ==> Reference Recordings are complete yet, we lost a bit the overview on what we already have and what is missing. (Walt will take care of the spreadsheet)
The team discussed, where is the storage for the files going to reside?  CWE has space, but access may be restrictive to users outside of CCSDS.  IO not for external, AVAIL wouldn't support raw. Falk took action to determine options.

  *   Topic 3: Voice Books
Fred was not in attendance. Do we have anyone that can read the voice books and mark what needs to be updated?
Walt/Sandy can review and see what they can determine. Walt not very familiar with voice.  (check status late August)

  *   Task: Falk, need to check with Tomaso, if we can implement VQ project even, if the Green Book is still not published. Even if it is announced already. Check if we can push the Green Book up the priority list?

  *   Goal for fall meeting:
Understand what video clip data we have vs need and get all data collected (recorded). The final decision on the Ref. Files, and what we will include in the data set, should be done latest at the Fall meeting, to start next steps of the project.

In general, the planning, for objective and subjective VQ test, are very loosely planned for the end of the year, but heavily depended on the ref. video data set and the degraded video file processing. A more realistic time frame would be finishing the tests until Spring 2027 Meeting.

We need action to clearly know what data sets we have vs don't have.  Walt will send out the spreadsheet from APL mtg and have Jeremy Myers/Jacob update based on clips recorded thus far.

  *   Remote meeting before fall:  Aug 20th 9 to 11 am central time.

  *   Fall Meeting: Oct 19-23 in Italy (Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday whole day, Thursday forenoon)
