Hi,
Thanks for the fast response Beth and Walt. I also though, maybe that is not so clear, after I sent the email. 😊
So, Yes, the plan is to write a Magenta Book for Video Quality Assessment or Space Application. The plan for the RTP over DTN Blue Book (+Yellow Book) stays as it is.

Hi Joshua,
No the discussion below is regarding the Video Quality book.

There are no changes for the RTP over DTN book structure.

Just to make sure I am understanding correctly, the RTPoverDTN Blue Book will be converted to a Magenta. This primarily means a reformatting of the material that already exists and we no longer have to complete interoperability testing? Also, in the Magenta Book would we be basing it only on the current form of the Blue Book or attempting to recover the original concept and putting both in the same book? Finally, who is going to be doing the reformatting?

Sincerely,
Joshua Deaton

I agree with the approach of making this a magenta book. While I think there can be two independent implementations, since we are planning to use a common testing algorithm, but it really isn’t an issue with what we are planning to do. I agree what we plan to produce is not a standard as much as it is a recommended practice.

Hello Everybody,
It was a great week in London, with lots of progress and fruitful discussions.
After a bit of back and forth with Tomaso. We decide that out final product, will be more a Magenta Book, then a Blue Book.

Tomaso’s main argument was, and I agree, that out approach won’t lead to an implementation that is tested through an interoperability test. With a Magenta Book, it is not the case, because we will provide profiles, requirements and a method to users to define and obtain a desired video quality level.

So, the work we planned do not change a bit, basically only the color of the book. If anybody have some thoughts on this and concreate ideas how to make it Blue, please share with the group.

I hope, everybody had a safe trip home.
Best Regards
Falk
