Hello Rodney,

We were able to generate the bulk of the test data last Friday for the follow up tests. Some of our team has been on travel this week, but the plan is to have the analysis wrapped up by this Friday.

Regards,
Daniel

@Raible, Daniel E. (GRC-LCP0)<mailto:daniel.e.raible at nasa.gov> how is the testing going?

@Mayer, Jeremy P. (JSC-OT/ESA)[EUROPEAN SPACE AGENCY]<mailto:jeremy.mayer at dlr.de> status on the re-writes?

ALL: My Emeritus status expires June 7th. I will do all I can to steer the ship in the right direction between now and then.

Cheers!

From GRC testing, we’ve got the Netropy configured, and have started to collect data.

Our plan is to have everything wrapped up by the top of the week to report out.

Regards,
Daniel

Can I get updates from and on the following, please?

@City Jeremy, status on Section 2/3 mods and re-writes?

@GRC team, status on updated testing with Entropy unit?

Thanks!
Rod

Notes from Spring meeting for reference….
We had a very productive week last week!

Quick review and actions to follow:

RTP over DTN book--
GRC provided a summary of the test results using hardware encoders/decoders with their implementation. The results are promising. It was noted that no packet-loss, disruption, or packets out of order were introduced in the testing (the previous week’s test was setting a baseline of performance). GRC agreed to use their Entropy unit over the next week or two to introduce disruptions into the link and will report findings.

Next followed a discussion on the way forward with the text of the current draft Blue Book. Consensus was reached to reduce the text of Section 2 by moving it to a future Green Book and to simplify Section 3 by removing the variations (what we referred to as the knobs). Following that a review of the normative text in Section 3 commenced. It was determined that much of Section 3 would be dependent on the results of the next testing by GRC (referenced above). There was a lengthy discussion about the text in section 3 related to STP. DLR/Jeremy agreed to revise relevant text in Sections 2 and 3 related to SDP.

Jonathan Wilmont presented some text related to QoS policy parameters for DTN that include “near-real time streaming” that he would like us to consider including in our RTP over DTN book. This will be addressed once the above revisions are completed.

Video Quality Assessment Green Book—
Falk led the team through the draft Green book with considerable progress. Further revision actions are included in the draft document in the CWE. The book should be ready for final WG review before the end of May, and then the book will be ready for publication.

Tomaso addressed the group with matters related to the status of the Voice Working Group. The Voice Blue Book is past due for revision and update. Since many of the MIA members supported the Voice WG originally, would it be possible for the MIA WG to take on the task of updating the Voice Blue Book. After brief discussion, the notion was agreed upon, but only after the Chairmanship of the MIA WG is addressed (Rodney’s Emeritus status was only updated for 45 days, starting in late April and expiring in early June of 2024).

If there are any addendums to above please reply all and make the edit/add/delete obvious for all to see.

Thanks!
