Hi. I thought you all might be interested in the progress Pete Gonzalez is making toward providing a bundle streaming service "appliance" for flight operations.

Subject: BSS Player preliminary testing
Hi Scott,
Just wanted to update you on some results of testing I have done with the BSS Player. Streamed a 720p video with audio over a DTN network having 4 sec OWLT and 10% error rate. As expected, the realtime stream at the destination node had issues while the playback was pretty much flawless. Higher resolution 1080p video was not quite as good.
I had to buffer the video frames into bigger chunks (approx 1 sec transmission rate) before transmitting them and then have the Player unbuffer them. The rate at which the frames are played from the source is too high, so some buffering is required for this to work. H.264 video at 1024x768 captured from our Axis camera in the lab during BSS playback was also very steady.
Attached are some slides that describe the setup.
Thanks,
Pete
