The topic in this email was identified by Wes Eddy/GSFC. We wanted to send this topic to you as it touches on your groups to get your reaction. LNIS Need Description: LNIS AD6 is identifying a few high-numbered VCIDs specifically for provider-to-user use, rather than the normal solely mission-determined use of VCIDs. Currently, we are planning to use 3 values, indicating different priority levels of LunaNet messages / DTN data / IP packets. CCSDS UPDATE REQUESTED CCSDS to consider updating the STD to identify a set of higher value VC numbers as ?Reserved? so users do not use them. Not necessarily for LunaNet, but in general. Perhaps the top 10 values, except VCID63. The initial reaction from the CESG folks in this email is: Makes some sense if DTN is used. Needs broader discussion. Might show up in a SANA registry. It seems that it is an application profile on top of AOS/USLP? This may be in a registry somewhere. Maybe the question can be posed as "Are there any VCIDs that we can't use?" Can you give a reaction or should we have a meeting? Thanks, Shannon -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
