SIS-DTN,
This year the IETF and CCSDS happen to be meeting during the same week. There are two specific meetings at IETF that I think members of SIS-DTN (in particular) and CCSDS (in general) should be aware of - the IETF DTNWG meeting and a birds-of-a-feather (BOF) proposal for a new "IP for deep space" IETF working group. For those unfamiliar, the IETF BOF definition and process are defined here: https://www.ietf.org/process/bofs/
The schedules for IETF are being finalized now, and it seems that IETF-DTNWG will be held on Wednesday 11/6 and the new working group BOF will happen likely on Thursday, 11/7. I can post an update here when exact dates and times are finalized.
For those unfamiliar with the "IP for deep space" work there is a github with information located here: https://deepspaceip.github.io/. I recommend reviewing it and the BOF proposal and charter proposal, also on that site. In particular this may be of interest for CCSDS as the proposed charter includes a desire to "do liaisons with key space stakeholders, such as the working groups of LunaNet Interoperability Specification(LNIS), Interagency Operations Advisory Group(IOAG), Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems(CCSDS), space agencies and space private sector." (https://deepspaceip.github.io/wg/charter.html).
If you would like to participate in either the DTNWG or deepspace BOF, there are two ways to do so:
1. The CCSDS can apply for a fee waiver so that individual CCSDS members can joint these WG meetings (there is the ability for remote participation).
2. Individuals can pay for a single-day pass (typically a few hundred $) and use a shared dial-in.
Happy to provide details and answer any questions.
-Ed
