Hi Felix,
Having a separated book for DTPC sounds reasonable also given the fact that the specification is already now something not just limited to few pages but rather big. Possible doubts/concerns from my side are 1) if DTPC book is issued after the new BP, it means that there will be a period of time during which no official CCSDS DTPC specification will be available: is this critical?; 2) to be seen from CMC standpoint if it's better to have a single project with BPv7, DTPC, and BBSP together, or three separated ones, for which the overall amount of PMs will be slightly higher. If the overlap will be minimal I don't see any issue, otherwise we may think of whether it is really worth of splitting the BP book in three books.
Regards,
Tomaso

(Sorry, if you already received this. CCSDS mailman didn't seem to like my original message.)
Dear All,
thanks for the detailed input to the CCSDS BPv7 discussions.
CLA:
- I would also add CLA for space and encapsulation packets as necessary CLA
DTCP:
- The current transport service guarantees in-sequence, reliable delivery without duplications. I think it would also make sense to have reliable delivery without the in-sequence / no duplication option.
- In order to get CCSDS BPv7 out quickly, it might make sense to have a separate book for DTCP.
ACS:
- We have started working on a 'compressed bundle reporting mechanism' which could be used as a more generic alternative. It does not rely on timers but on applications receiving signals about bundle reception/deletion/forwarding/delivery. Re-transmission of bundles could be requested from an application by an explicit command. I am happy to introduce the initial concept in one of the next WG meetings.
- BIBE is not a full replacement for the current custody transfer as the sender has to address the BIBE endpoint explicitly and intermediate nodes cannot accept custody. It might be possible to overcome this limitation using non-singleton endpoints. However, the current BIBE draft does only allow singleton endpoints if Custody Transfer is used. I am still not sure whether this limitation is necessary.
Self-identification:
- I would assume that the use of the previous hop extension block (or other extension blocks) would be governed by a 'network policy'. IMHO, the use of these blocks should be optional in the standard.
BBSP:
- Again, in order to get CCSDS BPv7 out more quickly, I would vote for a separate book.
Regards,
Felix

Good morning all,
Attached are BPv7 Red Book Discussion Topics from MSFC. We (MSFC) provide our opinions on how the topics listed within should be managed. Please provide your input via email on these topics so that we may take them into account as we write sections for the BPv7 book. If we run into a discussion that isn't resolving over email, we will resolve in the SIS-DTN forum.

20210407 - Just refreshing the calendar invite in case it got dropped somewhere.
Folks,
I'd like to set up some recurring SIS-DTN meetings to talk about our current work items. I've set these for every 2 weeks; if it looks like we don't need to meet that often I'll drop it down to monthly.
I'm proposing Wednesdays 11am; I get that this time won't work for everyone, but let's see how many can make it and if we have to we'll hunt for a different time.
v/r,
--keith
