Ok Felix, once available please share the draft so that I can start with the formalities towards the agency review. As such I agree that we don't need any CFDP meeting in May.

As to the other pending points, I see as top priority finding an agency for the second priority. This is something I can raise at CESG level and if the case check with the CMC delegates to find out who could put the necessary resources. I also agree about silverising the green books. They do contain a lot of interesting and valuable material but they should be entirely reworked and agencies certainly don't have the necessary resource for this kind of work.

Regards,

Tomaso

Dear All,

I haven't received any Working Group comments on the final draft of the CFDP B6 book.

@Tomaso de Cola<mailto:tomaso.decola at dlr.de>: I would suggest to trigger agency review for CFDP B6.

Regarding my questions below, I have also received no answers. My conclusions:

1) I will cancel the CFDP WG Meeting for the CCSDS Spring Meetings.

2) We still need to find a second implementation for interoperability testing. Maybe this can be addressed at CESG level.

3) No other topics to discuss.

I would suggest to put the CFDP Working Group to a 'dormant state' after:

A) We have successfully published the CFDP B6 Blue Book

B) We have decided what to do with the CFDP Green Books. It certainly would make sense to update those to align with CFDP B6 and include operational experience. However, I don't think anyone would currently put resources into this. So, we might decide to silverize them after B6 publication to indicate that they may be slightly outdated.

Regards,
Felix

Hi Tomaso,

We are currently implementing and will try to prepare the Yellow Book while doing it.

We should be ready by summer. The main question is about the other implementation.

Felix

Hi Felix,

Thanks for starting this. My understanding is that this book once ready will go in agency review and in parallel implementation will start to have in turn the yellow book for the newly inserted procedures, isn't it?

Regards,

Tomaso

Subject: CFDP B6 Standard - Working Group Last Call / CCSDS Spring Meeting

Dear CFDP Working Group,

I would like to initiate a Working Group Last Call for the CFDP B6 standard we have discussed in the past meetings.

The final draft is available with and without track changes wrt to B5 in CWE:

CCSDS File Delivery Protocol_TRACK_CHANGES_B5.docx<https://spacecomm.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/sites/SIS/Shared%20Documents/SIS-CFDPV1/Draft%20Documents/727x0b6_WhiteBook/CCSDS%20File%20Delivery%20Protocol_TRACK_CHANGES_B5.docx?d=w1f0c1aaabbfb4d6caa5cedfa02f62a49&csf=1&web=1&e=aEXxUd>

727x0b6_WhiteBook_March_2026_CLEAN.doc<https://spacecomm.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/sites/SIS/Shared%20Documents/SIS-CFDPV1/Draft%20Documents/727x0b6_WhiteBook/727x0b6_WhiteBook_March_2026_CLEAN.doc?d=w8536caec37314fa8a7e248ce89cd93ef&csf=1&web=1&e=Sl6tkf>

The change record contains a summary of the major changes. However, editorial changes have been applied across the document, so I would recommend to review the version with track changes. Please note that there are still some minor formatting issues across the document which I haven't been able to resolve completely (this will be done later by the CCSDS Tech Editors).

Please let me have any comments, concerns or specific change requests you may have until 20 April.

At that time, I will gather all feedback received from the WG and determine whether we will need a dedicated discussion. If not, I will ask Tomaso to initiate agency review.

Regarding a meeting of the CFDP WG during the CCSDS Spring Technical Meetings: I assume I will be very busy with the DTN WG meetings but I could arrange for a CFDP WG Meeting on Thursday, 28 May, 15:30-17:30 local time (Puerto Rico, should be19:30 - 21:30 UTC). However, I assume that not many CFDP WG participants will travel to the CCSDS meetings, so I would prefer to not organise a CFDP meeting during that week unless many CFDP WG members are present and wishing to meet. Otherwise, I will just call for a remote meeting some other time (either before the Spring Meetings if we have to discuss the B6 Final Draft or after we got agency feedback or want to discuss interoperability testing). So, could you please let me know (until 20 April):

1) If you are interested in a CFDP WG meeting during the CCSDS Spring Technical Meetings (Thursday, 28 May, 15:30-17:30 local time) and whether you would be able to join in person?

2) If you are interested in participating in the interoperability testing of B6 (implementation is on-going at ESA)?

3) If there are any other CFDP topics you would like to discuss?

Regards,
Felix
