Dear XSG members,

Please see the attached draft XML rules document contributed by CNES.  It should be analyzed, along with the ESA and Google XML guidelines we have already evaluated, for suitability for use as part of a CCSDS XML Guideline.

Dear Peter and Nestor,

Following the CCSDS meeting, and according to our discussion Friday 27th March:


  *   Please find attached as input for the SEA/XML WG the CNES rules and good practices for XML interface specification.



  *   In addition to the current proposed implementation coherent with the previous ones, Beatrice is ready to analyze for implementation a more up to date version of the DEDSL XML schema according to the CCSDS rules. For that purpose, could you please send us a draft version of these rules?


Already noted (please correct or complete if necessary):


  1.  Include versioning in the XML Schema
  2.  Add an optional camel case style implementation (as an annex) to the document taking into account the proposed future CCSDS rules
  3.  Include all required sections (SANA considerations, Security, Patents) in the DEDSL XML Schema standard

  1.  In SANA considerations section, note:

  1.  Need for registration of DEDSL XML Schema
  2.  Need for registration of DEDSL XML namespace

  1.  Register the following items with SANA

  1.  the XML Schema from this document
  2.  the existing XML DTD
  3.  chosen namespace
  4.  Items for CCSDS Glossary (abbreviations and terms) once the document is published
