Hi Christian,

Sorry you had problems.  I did have problems with the mic on my new computer too.  To get around that I had Webex call me back on my cell phone.  That may not work from overseas.  However, using a cell phone and a service like Facetime or WhatsApp to make an IP call might work well.

What I have found to work well in most circumstances is a computer headset.  I have had a couple of different ones from Logitech that work extremely well.  I am sure that there are other companies that make perfectly adequate ones for $50 or so.
