Thanks. Thought it was worth a try…maybe not.
Talk later.

Hi Peter,
I gave this a shot and uploaded the doc. Followed the instructions to open it and got an error initially (I suspect it has to do with the size of the doc – big!). However, after converting it to the latest word format I was able to open it… I’m not sure if we gain much… the interface in the browser is pretty clunky (slow). I don’t know what to say…
We can talk later…
Best,
Costin

Hi Faramaz and Costin,
I was talking to Faramaz the other day and he suggested that we save the two parallel docs for a baseline, accept all changes, merge the ABA and SSI edits into one new baseline doc, and then edit it jointly. I asked the CCSDS web gurus and apparently the CWE offers some sort of shared editing capability. If this works as it ought to (always a question) it might just facilitate this process for us.
I suggest that we try it out with just a small sample, try merging two small ABA and SSI parts, and then try joint editing. Are you willing to do that experiment?
Thanks, Peter

Peter,
Good question. Yes, the CWE provides shared editing capabilities with our Office Online server.
Simply click on any Office file in the CWE, and it will open in the Office Online Server for editing. If another person does the same, you will both be in “Co-Authoring” mode!!

Hi Brian,
Can you tell me if the current CWE deployment provides on-line shared editing of Word docs? As opposed to download doc, edit, upload edited doc?
Thanks, Peter
