Dear SEA SAWG,

Thanks for the great meeting today. I look forward to the rest of the meetings during the week.

Attached is the intro PPT file with the agenda for the three days of meetings. Also attached is a copy of the original Reference Architecture for Space Data Systems (RASDS) document, CCSDS 311.0-M-1, that is one of the primary work elements in the SAWG. This version has been marked-up by me, to show the kinds of revisions that I envision at this point. I want you all to understand that while this is offered up for consideration it is not necessarily what the outcome of this work will be. It is just a starting point for discussions.

In this marked-up version of RASDS, CCSDS 311.0-M-1, you will find all of the parts that I thought needed edits. These include:

  * SC14 considerations re new, extended viewpoints (to be discussed tomorrow)
  * ASL GB and SCCS-ARD/ADD MB/GB extensions and examples
  * Thoughts about specific adjustments to existing viewpoints and additions of new viewpoints
  * How to integrate SysML/MBSE approaches, potentially based on the attached paper written by Mark Sarrel, Sandy Friedenthal and me (referenced as S, S, & F INCOSE paper)

I will be making some further edits to the second set of charts we reviewed today and send them out shortly. It occurred to me during our discussions that some other materials could be added, from the SCCS and ASL documents, that would clarify just what was being proposed. Further changes are likely to come out of the SC14 discussion tomorrow. Along those lines I will be using this slide deck to track our evolving agreements on just what is to be included in the RASDS revision.

I will also send out the SANA Steering Group (SSG) invite to the whole SAWG mailing list. Some of you may be interested. The primary topic that I think will be relevant for SAWG purposes is the existing Terminology registry, the possible extensions for SC14/ECSS, and the possible inclusion of some form of ontology as a new registry type.

Thanks again and best regards, Peter
