[Sea-sa] Current version of MOIMS Reference Architecture Models

Dear Peter and All,

 

I attach my current working set of models for the MOIMS inputs to the
Reference Architecture work as input for this afternoon's telecon.

There are 5 elements:

 

-          Functional Viewpoint

-          Information Viewpoint

-          Service Viewpoint

-          Protocol Viewpoint

-          Deployment Viewpoint [including Physical Viewpoint] 

 

New in this version:

 

-          I have tidied up, removing input material and material not
relevant to each viewpoint

-          I have updated to reflect discussions with David Giaretta
concerning Data Archiving (DAI working group) [Funtional, Information,
Service and Protocol viewpoints]

-          I have completed the draft Information Viewpoint, adding a top
level diagram and Data Archiving diagram, as well as completing the
Navigation & Timing diagram.  Currently I do not have a dedicated Operations
Preparation diagram, but this is covered in the top level diagram - a
separate diagram could easily be produced for the green book.  Similarly the
non-DAI aspects of Data Storage and Archiving are covered only the top-level
viewpoint.

-          Deployment Viewpoint:  I have had a first pass at the Physical
viewpoint, identifying representative examples of deployment nodes
(particularly within the ground segment).  Once this is agreed, I can
produce some example end-to-end Deployment diagrams.  However, I note these
could quickly become exceedingly complicated, so it may be wise to limit
what is shown to the service/data interfaces exposed between deployment
nodes for a given example deployment of functions.  Again to simplify, I
would suggest a single Function bubble is shown for each top-level function,
annotated with the sub-functions it includes.
