[CCSDS Observers] CCSDS Review of CCSDS 355.0-P-1.1, Space Data Link Security Protocol

The following draft CCSDS Recommended Standard 
has been placed on line for CCSDS Agency review:

     CCSDS 355.0-P-1.1.  Space Data Link Security Protocol.
                         Pink Sheets.  Issue 1.1.  June 2021.

DOCUMENT DESCRIPTION:  This Recommended Standard 
specifies a security protocol for CCSDS data 
links.  The protocol provides a security header 
and trailer along with associated procedures that 
may be used with the CCSDS Telemetry, 
Telecommand, and Advanced Orbiting Systems Space 
Data Link Protocols to provide a structured 
method for applying data authentication and/or 
data confidentiality at the Data Link layer. The 
current draft update adds specifications for 
Unified Space Data Link Protocol support and adds 
normative reference to Space Data Link Security Protocol—Extended Procedures.

The due date for receipt of Agency review 
comments by the CCSDS Review Coordinator is 16 
August 2021.  More information is available at the Web site identified below.
