Hello Felix, Olivier,
I have spoken with Holger this morning and Holger plans on attending the joint session on Tuesday afternoon. I will not be able to attend but I look forward to any notes that come from the meeting.
Best regards,
-Erik

Hello Felix,
Holger chairs the CDDS WG and we will need to see if he is okay with the time. I can tell you that the CDDS only has two room allocations – Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning of the meetings week. Although the proposed time is late on Tuesday afternoon, it may be, depending on how the CDDS meeting goes, that the CDDS WG will need to continue to meet late into that afternoon. In large measure, the actual data transfer between MOC and S/C is transparent to the emerging CDDS standard. However, I’m guessing that you may want to touch on the use case where the ground station might be the last hop. I think that is largely already addressed by SC-CSTS which is currently very close for agency review. Nonetheless there could be some interesting discussion related to this, assuming I have correctly surmised the interest.
It may also be that Holger and I can coordinate internally for the CSS area to better arrange for CSS Area representation at the joint session. But again, I cannot exactly promise it at this time but hopefully Holger and/or I can give you a more definite answer in the near future.
Best regards,
-Erik

OK,
I have proposed a joint slot for Tuesday, 16.9., 15:30 – 17:30 in the DTN WG Agenda:

Would this work for you all?

Dear Olivier,
As I am urgently waiting for this functionality, the meeting is an excellent idea 😉
I am even wondering if someone from the Cloud WG should be involved as they are currently looking into data formats (eg, frame files + metadata) where we could have a lot of commonality (I have seen that you also indicated the terrestrial side in your slides and it may fit nicely).
We have discussed this briefly in the DTN WG meeting today and would propose a 2h meeting maybe Tuesday or Wednesday pm.
Regards,
Felix

Subject: [Sis-dtn] [CCSDS Fall2025] Joint Meeting Relay-Support/Delivery Agent MOIMS-SM&C/SEA-SA/SIS-DTN/CSS
Dear all,
We had discussions between the DTN and MOIMS-SM&C WGs concerning a “CCSDS Delivery Agent” in charge of a “First Hop” and “Last Hop”, described in
• [1] sections 6.5.3
• [2] section 6.6
During the discussion, it appeared to SM&C that it could be seen as a way to coordinate supports in relay operations within a DTN Network (or even not DTN?)
We would like to organize a joint meeting with the following questions:
- Is it something CCSDS should work on?
- Is it framed correctly? If not, how can we improve?
- How should we coordinate between the relevant WG?
As it deals with cross-support, we thought CSS should be involved.
As it deals with DTN, DTN-SIS needs to be present.
As it seems a very wide topic, SEA-SA would be needed to help us frame the topic.
We (SM&C) prepared the slides that are attached to this email to support the discussion.
We are still working on realistic use cases from our agencies’ experts.
When this joint-meeting could happen? On SM&C side, we haven’t set our agenda, so we have no constrain.
Thank you
Olivier, for MOIMS-SM&C
