After reflecting on this for a few minutes, I think it would be a good idea for me to schedule a meeting with Mehran to discuss this in detail. There’s no way I’ll do justice to the situation without someone more knowledgeable with respect to the details of the ISO plans and the downstream consequences. Thus Mehran probably wouldn’t be able to cogently convey the issue to the CESG effectively in next week’s meeting.

Let’s get together after you are done with vacation and prepare some briefing material for him, then schedule. I will mention that we’d like to have a meeting with him (and maybe Daniel Fischer too, since he’s CESG Chair, which I believe to be the actionable organization).

I remembered what was nagging me about the second item I was going to summarize for you in my email. In addition to the online standard development ISO is doing, they've also instituted a plan where this Central Secretariat editor begins working with the standards development people earlier in the process so that it is not quite as onerous to meet their new language inclusivity and plot requirements. So the other question to relate to Marin in the area plenary is how ccsds plans to work within that context.
