During the CCSDS Navigation WG telecon this past Wednesday 26-Jul-2017, it was reported that ESOC had very recently detected an issue with the Pointing Request Message. I am not yet informed as to the details of the issue, but investigation to date by our technical expert has not yet determined the specific changes that may be required in the standard, and the magnitude of those changes.

Under these circumstances, I request that the Resolution below be placed on hold until further notice.

My apologies for this turn of events. As soon as I know more definitive information, it will be shared with all.

Resolution MOIMS-NAV WG-R-2017-07-001: Approval to publish the Blue Book CCSDS 509.0-R-1.3, POINTING REQUEST MESSAGE

The MOIMS AD,

CONSIDERING that the book Pointing Request Message (509.0-R-1.3) is a chartered project of the NAV WG and has undergone Agency Review,

RECOGNIZING that the book has been updated in accordance with the Agency Review RID dispositions in agreement with the RID authors,

and RECOGNIZING that the recommendations have been successfully prototyped,

REQUESTS that the CCSDS Secretariat initiate the polls to release the recommendation as a CCSDS Blue Book.
