Mario/Brigitte:

Per your request, here is the "simple report" on Nav WG projects as of our 13-Dec-2017 telecon.

Pointing Requests Message (PRM): The Resolution to Publish has been revived and the document has been provided to the Secretariat. Per Tom, the document does require some editorial attention, so a poll will not appear until his editing work has been completed.

Tracking Data Message (TDM): We hope to advance the P1.0.6 version for Agency Review. The document has been provided to you for your Technical Review and Resolution to advance to Red Book. Tom Gannett has indicated that a full review (not just Pink Sheets) is necessary. We are very interested in getting the Agency Review started ASAP so we can have RIDs for the Spring Meetings.

Navigation Data—Definitions and Conventions Green Book: Version 4 updates are in progress. A draft (3.5) should be distributed by the end of December. At this point we plan to request the CESG Poll and publication after the Spring 2018 Meetings (we were not quite ready at the end of the Fall Meetings).

Re-Entry Data Message (RDM): White Book #7 has been provided to you for your Technical Review prior to requesting Agency Review. Document number 508.1 has been assigned. We are very interested in getting the Agency Review started ASAP so we can have RIDs for the Spring Meetings.

Orbit Data Message (ODM): Internal review of the most recent draft (P2.36) has been completed. An updated draft P2.37 is in progress (current target mid-January 2018).

Attitude Data Messages (ADM): Version 2 updates are in progress. The most recent draft (P1.5) was discussed at the Fall Meetings, and we will have a P1.6 update in early January 2018. Per the Lead Editor, the document is nearing readiness for Agency Review.

Navigation Data Messages XML Specification (NDM/XML): No new status. A first draft of the modified document has not yet been produced, and will not be produced until after the beginning of 2018.

Navigation Events Message (NEM): The project has been renamed at the Fall 2017 Meetings (from "Events Message" to "Navigation Events Message". We formally kicked off the project at the Fall 2017 meetings. A first White Book is anticipated prior to the Spring 2018 Meetings.

Navigation Hardware Message (NHM): CMC approved demotion to Draft Project, but the formal change has not yet been implemented.

You likely recall the topic of "Projects with disproportionate delays" from the CESG Meeting. Nav WG has 3 on that list: the PRM, TDM, ADM. Based on the foregoing, I assert that the PRM will be completed shortly (before Spring Meetings), the TDM is nearly ready for Agency Review, and the ADM is approaching that state. So while we have yet significant work to do, I believe that in the next year most of these 3 projects will have been completed.

Regards,
David
