Colleagues,
I still recommend that the OMM be deprecated since no potential user has
even invoke it ever. It is included in some operational software, such
as JMS, but that is not a good reason for retaining it. It is just
another opportunity for errors and emergent behaviors.
With regard to OHM, not obligatory is better than "optional." However,
lCD's will still be required between collaborators in order to agree on
elements of information to be exchanged. To the best of my inspection,
all required elements are already in other standard messages such as
existing ODM's or CDM's. All this new message provides is perhaps
the format for the non-obligatory elements. There is a common core
among all ODM types, and none of these should be optional in any of the
messages.
When this comes to ISO elevation, there will be more discussion.
