Joe,
Many thanks for your comments.
I propose to discuss this during the next teleconf if you are available.
Best regards,

Luis,
I really like your diagrams but there are a few things that I'd like to
clarify.
On the first slide:
Does TM imply telemetry and does that imply telemetry from the spacecraft?
Tracking data usually comes from ground sources and I don't know if
telemetry is a good description. "Navigation Data" might be better.
On the third slide:
?The Initial Instrument Pointing may not be needed to create a PRM. I
think the essential input is the Desired Instrument Pointing.
On the fourth slide:
There are three instances in the use of the SMM. The first instance (the
Maneuver Planning Message --- MPM)
is used when the main information that is transmitted is a description
of what maneuver is desired.
The second instance (the Maneuver Design Message --- MDM) represents the
detailed design of the maneuver. It uses the MPM as one of its inputs.
The third instance (the Maneuver Analysis Message --- MAM) represents the
results of analysis of the actual maneuver results after it has been
performed. It uses the MDM as one of its inputs.
We have not yet completely decided if the three message types will be
separate or if the MDM will include within it the MPM and the MAM will
include within it the MAM. This is why, in my initial crude diagrams, I
showed a sort of loop in the SMM. I don't know the best way to represent
this situation in flow charts.
Thanks,
Joe?

Dear all,
you can find attached my proposal for modification of Joe's diagrams, seen
from a Flowchart point of view.
For a description of the meaning of each component in the flowchart, you
can visit:

All:
During today's telecon with Juan Carlos Raymond on the topic of the Nav
Green Book Volume 1, Joe Hashmall displayed some material he had prepared
that presents a more straightforward description and simple graphics than
some of the material currently in the book. This was well received in
general.
I had the action item to send out to the group...
Regards,
David
