From Peter.van.der.Plas at esa.int Thu Apr 11 14:03:42 2024 From: Peter.van.der.Plas at esa.int (Peter Van Der Plas) Date: Thu, 11 Apr 2024 14:03:42 +0000 Subject: [Moims-mp] MP&S WG meeting 10/4/2024 minutes Message-ID: Dear all, Please find below the minutes of the MP&S WG meeting from yesterday afternoon. Best regards, Peter -- Subject: Mission Planning & Scheduling WG meeting Date and time: 10 April 2024, 16:00 - 18:00 CET Location: WebEx Attendance list - Peter van der Plas (ESA, chair) - Cesar Coelho (ESA) - Christoph Lenzen (DLR) - Clement Hubin (CNES) - Dave Frew (ESA) - Guillermo Buenadicha (ESA) - Maria Woerle (DLR) - Quinten van Woerkom (ESA) - Roger Thompson (ESA) - Olly Page (UKSA) Agenda 1. Prototyping Status 2. Blue Book Status 3. Spring Meetings Planning 4. New CWE Projects 5. AOB Minutes 1. Prototyping Status 1a - Services A prototyping meeting was held Tuesday 9 April 2024. Cesar: Progress on GMV side. Issue with reporting of errors - error number 0 not allowed. The latest Red Book and XML Service Specification should be up to date. Peter & Roger to check and to distribute to the ESOC and DLR. Action DONE. Christoph: Marvin has adapted the DLR prototype to MAL v10 and test specification issue 12. Some comments on issue 12 have been provided, some more comments are to come for Guillermo to implement. Guillermo: Will clean up the book and provide issue 13 next week. Action Guillermo. 1b - File Formats Quinten has provided the update Yellow Book and XL spreadsheet. Testing to be performed probably by ESTEC, due to lack of manpower at ESAC. ESA will agree internally on this. The intention is to perform a first test run of the File Formats during the next weeks. DLR agreed to perform the testing of the File Formats, but this cannot be done before the Spring Meeting and will probably take place in 2-2.5 months from now. This is not considered an issue for the WG, as the current Blue Book is expected to still be in Agencies Review after the Spring Meeting (review period will be 60 days). 2. Blue Book Status The updates to the MP&S Red Book resulting from the CESG comments were accepted (with no reaction from Peter Shames within the review period, as per CCSDS procedure). The CCSDS Chief Editor (Tom Gannett) raised an additional concern with the Red Book use of requirement styles. These issues were corrected by Roger and provided to Tom. No more feedback was received from Tom after this. Currently a CMC Poll for the Red Book is needed to release it for Agencies Review. We missed the previous poll cycle, and we will be hopefully in the next one. Peter will follow up. Roger has made an additional update to the Blue Book due to the MAL error numbering, see above. This update and corresponding XML Service Specification will be the current version for the prototyping. However, this update will not be included in the Agencies Review, as it arrived too late. Maria raised an issue with the current Blue Book section 4, which is currently not titled "Information Model" as was expected. This makes the references to the Information Model inconsistent within the Blue Book. Peter suggests not to fix this for the moment, but to raise a RID instead, and to investigate more thoroughly the consistency of all terminology in the Blue Book (in fact in all MP&S books). 3. Spring Meetings Planning Meeting rooms were requested for Monday (after CCSDS and MOIMS Plenary) until Friday noon. Friday afternoon is reserved for reporting and the MOIMS Closing Plenary. Monday Morning: CCSDS/MOIMS Opening Plenary MP&S: Welcome, agenda, current status Afternoon: BB review / RID discussion Tuesday Morning: BB review / RID discussion Afternoon: BB review / RID discussion Wednesday Morning: Prototyping: File Formats finalisation, Yellow Book #2 finalisation Afternoon: Magenta Book project kick-off, draft presentation, next steps Thursday Morning: Prototyping: Services finalisation, Yellow Book #1 finalisation Afternoon: Green Book (Issue 2) project kick-off, discussion and tasks Friday Morning: BB review / RID discussion + Reporting to MOIMS Afternoon: MOIMS Closing Plenary Peter to contact Mehran on the participation of Cesar (and possibly Dominik) to the MP&S WG meeting on Thursday morning. Action ONGOING. 4. New CWE Projects New draft projects for the MP&S Information Model Magenta Book and MP&S Green Book (Issue 2) were created in the CWE area. The schedule of the Magenta Book project was updated in line with the latest schedule for the Blue Book publication. The new projects are now submitted to the CCSDS Secretariat and should be in the next CMC Poll for approval. 5. AOB Next WG meetings will take place during the CCSDS Spring Technical Meetings in Washington D.C. from 29 April - 3 May. Most WG members confirmed their in-person attendance to the meetings. Peter will provide a WebEx for the ones joining remotely. -- ESA - European Space Agency Peter van der Plas EGSE and Ground Systems section (TEC-SWG) Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality ESTEC Keplerlaan 1, PO Box 299, NL-2200 AG Noordwijk, The Netherlands Peter.van.der.Plas at esa.int | www.esa.int Mobile +31 6 81 75 01 50 | +31 6 51 93 44 30 This message is intended only for the recipient(s) named above. This is a reminder to provide your preliminary comments, from you or from others within your organisation. We can then take the opportunity of the Spring Meeting next week, to perform a first WG discussion of the available RIDs. As such, please provide me your comments before next week Monday 29 April. I have attached the latest issue of the Blue Book dated 16 April. Compared to the previous issue (dated 6 March), some editorial changes were applied on request of the CCSDS Secretariat (requirements numbering aligned with the publication guidelines). Also, some minor issues found during the prototyping were implemented (for example the error numbering). Other than that, there were no changes. I have also attached here a RID template. Please make sure that the date matches the date of the document you have reviewed (6 March or 16 April), such that we can trace the page and paragraph numbers correctly. Compared to the Blue Book issue that we completed in July 2023, the current draft "Red Book" has undergone editing by the CCSDS Secretariat. In addition, we have incorporated feedback from the CESG in advance of the Agencies Review. I have listed the most obvious changes: * All informative material regarding the Information Model was removed and will now be published in a separate Magenta Book. * Sections 3 (now Services) and 4 (now Information Model) were swapped. * References to the SANA registry were improved, in particular for the MAL and also for the NAV types used in the PRM. * The Security Annex has been enlarged. * Many comments of the CESG were incorporated (most of these resulted merely in clarifications). * A small number of bugs and inconsistencies were resolved. I expect that the current issue of the book will be pretty close to the "official" one that will be made available for the Agencies Review. As such, each of you could start reviewing the current book in advance of the CCSDS Spring Meetings, such that we can use the time to hopefully make progress on our internal comments.
