Minutes

1. Prototyping Status
There was a dedicated prototyping meeting on 10 October. ESOC (César) is mainly working on the MAL implementation. Once completed, the existing MP&S prototype will be updated to the latest MAL. At DLR side the implementation is merely complete, pending updates to the final MAL and pending clarifications on specific data items in the test cases.

Update of the Yellow Book and extension of the test cases for the Data Types and File Formats is still pending. Peter has an action to find alternative manpower within ESA to support Guillermo and Peter on this.

2.  Blue Book Status

A resolution was issued by MOIMS-AD for entering the public review of the MP&S Blue Book. The book is currently with the CCSDS Chief Editor. It is noted that during the public review process, the master copy of the Blue Book is with the CCSDS Secretariat.

A short presentation on the Blue Book status was given by Roger.

Some feedback on BB was received from DLR (Christoph, Marvin), an email with all issues will be send to Roger (action on Christoph).

3.  Fall Meeting Preparation

The CCSDS Fall Meeting will take place 6-10 November 2023 in The Hague (NL).

The following people indicated their in-person attendance: Peter, César (mainly in SM&C), Christoph, Clément, Geoff, Maria, Olly. The others may join by WebEx for limited sessions.

In principle, the same slots as usual are available for the MP&S WG:

Monday: morning (short session after CCSDS and MOIMS plenaries) / afternoon
Tuesday: morning / afternoon
Wed: morning / afternoon
Thu: morning / afternoon
Fri: morning (afternoon: MOIMS reporting)

Potential sessions to skip (in order of priority):
1 - Friday morning
2 - Thursday afternoon (or use only for conclusions & reporting)
3 - Monday afternoon? Monday morning?

To anyone: please let Peter know if you have any constraints for certain days and times.

Topics for the WG agenda:

- Blue Book status and new feedback discussion
- Prototyping
  - Yellow Book
    - General sections (action on PP & GB)
    - Test Cases for Services -> needs updating (action GB) + new issues found during implementation
    - Test Cases for Data Types (including the three Data Types for File Formats)
    - Reporting (test reports format from the Test Bed, XML reporting)
  - Services: status, progress, discussion of open issues
  - Data Types (including the three Data Types for File Formats)
    - Assessing the major data types
    - Brainstorm on potential test cases, how far should we go into detail?
    - Note: this will be a hands-on exercise
- Join some relevant SM&C sessions (MAL)
- TBD: additional missions for evaluation (anyone interested: contact Peter)
- TBC: Future adoption of the standard, plans for implementation

Peter will distribute a draft agenda based on the proposed topics above. There will also be a coordination with SM&C, where we may join relevant sessions.

To anyone: please let Peter know if you have any additional topics for the agenda.

4. AOB

No addition issues. Next prototyping and WG meetings will take place during the Fall Meetings in The Hague.
