Minutes
1. Status of the Prototyping
A dedicated prototyping meeting was held on 15/02/2023, with the MoM provided by Dominik. The prototyping effort at DLR is progressing well. The prototyping at ESOC is completed, but additional work is expected in 2023 regarding the integration and testing of the updated MAL and other maintenance activities. GMV support is required for this, with an internal action on ESA to put a support contract in place.
Work on the implementation of the MAL updates is progressing, and integration testing with the Mission Planning prototype is ongoing. Cesar (SM&C) attended the prototyping meeting.
No updates to the Yellow Book or the annex (tables with data for the test cases) have been provided during the reporting period. There is an open action on Guillermo to update the tables as agreed during the Toulouse meeting,
2. Status of the Blue Book
The latest BB draft H3 and EA model draft X2 have been made available by Roger on the Google Drive, including the XML Schemas. Currently, Roger has implemented all agreed comments. However, some small changes related to some issues identified at MAL level (abstract classes numbering) will have to be reflected in the MPS Blue Book.
Roger described the progress on the XML Service Specification, with an automated generation from the Blue Book. The work is now in an advanced stage, with no show-stoppers currently identified. Some work is required e.g. on the error codes and additional information modelling.
Roger is planning to provide an updated Blue Book in the next few weeks.
Note: the MPS Google Drive can be found here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B3jWkUN_retcYUxBd3p5LTJ3ZmM?resourcekey=0-XhQ3CABFWOGHmxm5Q3wf-Q
Under the Blue Book, there is the "Current Working Documents" with the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Q0Xzg6-kUWA4Y27W0MtHvMi--vBHb9hU
Here the Blue Book Word document (H3) and Enterprise Architect model (X2) can be found. The latest XML Schemas are in sub-directory "MPS File Schema"
3. Blue Book Agencies Review planning
The MAL Blue Book is now out for Agencies Review. This would potentially allow for the release of our MPS Blue Book for Agencies Review as well.
Once Roger has provided an update of the MPS Blue Book and MPS Service Specifications (XML), the "Red Book" can be forwarded to the MOIMS Area Director for the CESG poll.
4. CCSDS Spring Meeting planning
The CCSDS Spring Meeting 2023 will take place 8-12 May in Huntsville AL, at the Westin hotel. More information will be provided by the CCSDS organisation during the next weeks.
The MPS group intends to meet from Monday (after the plenaries) until Friday morning. Friday afternoon will be reserved for MOIMS area reporting.
The detailed schedule for the week is still to be made, but the following topics were identified:
Note: feedback from the Agencies Review is NOT yet expected (too short time)
- Any feedback internally from the WG could still be considered
- Prototyping and Yellow Book (including detailed test cases and data tables)
- Validation with additional missions (NASA?)
- Additional validation of the Information Model (XML Schemas)
- Evolution of the MPS standard after publication (e.g. Configuration data)
- Automation
- Attending SM&C sessions, in particular where MAL is involved (Roger will not attend, as such some of us should be there)
- Reporting and feedback to MOIMS
The automation topic will require some preparation. The idea is to discuss the scope and objectives during the Spring Meeting. As such, we will need inputs for the discussion. This may require the involvement of experts in the area of Automation. Roger will present his ideas during the next WG meeting.
5. AOB
The next MP&S WG meeting is planned for Wednesday 29 March 2023, 16:00 - 18:00 CET. The next prototyping meeting will be the day before, i.e. Tuesday 28 March at 16:00.
Best regards,
Peter
