[Moims-ipr] Toulouse Fall Meeting Dates

Hi everyone,

A couple of clarifications on Don's email.
1. Don was confused about the dates on the agenda. My original goal was to
have two formal days of IPR Implementor's working group on Friday November
5 and Monday November 8 with informal meetings among smaller groups over
the weekend to discuss potential problems in implementation and solutions
to open issues such as namespace management and details of existing or in
progress implementations.
2. Given the number of people who are going to CODATA on November 7, I
think we need to schedule a formal day for Saturday November 6 and informal
meetings in Toulouse and at CODATA if needed.
PATRICK(or other CNES personnel.) Can we schedule a meeting in CNES
facilities on Saturday November 6???

XFDU Specification Work(Sorry about the delay but my parent's condition and
my health drained my time)

1. The schema and toolkit on the website are updated and stable
2. A very much improved White Book will be distributed and available on the
IPR website before September 10 (Nestor should submit it to the CESG as the
long lost WB without WG review)
3. I would appreciate a detailed review by the WG with each agency
commiting someone to provide RIDS by October 1. A major problem in getting
the current version of the White Book done is that there was no real review
by WG members and there were large inconsistancies bethween the ovewrview
text and the schema.
4. I will try to schedule some IPR telecons including one the week of
October 4 to respond to the RIDS.
5. We should do concept papers on the IPR topics listed in the agenda
6. I will distribute a New Version of the XFDU spec reflecting IPR RIDS
before the meeting
7. My goal will be to do the technical work on updating to XFDU
Specification with solutions agreed at the IPR WG meeting and create a
Version 1 Red Book before the end of November for Panel review and
submission to the CESG by Feb 2005

XFDU Testbed

We really need to start all agency implementations to get some practical
experience

All,

We have had some difficulty settling on a date for the Fall
meetings of the DAI and IPR WGs due to conflicts in schedules
and some unavoidable delay in getting out the IPR XFDU
book.  We are now planning to have these meetings in Toulouse
beginning Tuesday, 2 November.  If possible, the IPR part
may extend into the weekend (Nov. 7-8).

Please respond ASAP with your expected attendance, and the approximate
titles and time slots for any proposed presentations.  Here is a
first cut at an overall agenda  - please comment:

 Nov 2 - Opening Plenary - Agency reports (2 hours),
 "Producer-Archive Interface Formal Definition and Transfer Phase
Specification” presentation/discussion(4 hours), XFDU Presentation (2
hours)
 Nov 3 - Parallel DAI and IPR WG sessions
 Nov 4- Joint DAI/IPR meeting
            - Reports from November 3 meeting
            - OAIS Update
            -Implementation goals,plans and schedules
            -XFDU plans and dependencies
            -Registry/Repository Goals
            -Version 2 functionality-> Prototype goals eg(we may need
                 simple behavior and/or web services in V1)
 November 5- XFDU Editor and Implementor workshop
 Nomber 6-7- Informal editing/implementation activities
 November 8 - XFDU Editor and Implementor workshop

 Goals of IPR implementor/editor Workshop:

 XFDU namespace and identifiers decisions
 System Requirements to be addressed (size, speed, errorhandling etc)
 Which implementations are leads on various systems requirements
 Interoperability Profile
 XFDU schema edits and dependency on prototype/implementation results
 Behavior issues

 This assumes a good agency WG review of the Sept XFDU White Book
