Hi Terry

 

Clearly some overlap, and it talks about “Transform messages to an alternative representation”, although it looks as if that is the infrastructure doing the transforming, which I don’t think we want to get in to.

The  big difference is in terms of understandability.

The whole article is here <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Message_broker> .  If we use David's labels (substitute Adapter for Proxy, for example), I think the two are equivalent,
