We have received 25 RIDs - what we have called "suggested changes" - from
some parts of CCSDS: see
http://review.oais.info/show_bug.cgi?id=281 to
http://review.oais.info/show_bug.cgi?id=306
They are all marked as coming from me because I copy/pasted the CCSDS text
file into our system.
CCSDS classifies RIDs as
* TECHNICAL FACT: Major technical change of sufficient magnitude as
to render the Recommendation inaccurate and unacceptable if not corrected.
(Supporting analysis/rationale is essential.)
* RECOMMENDED: Change of a nature that would, if incorporated,
produce a marked improvement in document quality and acceptance.
* EDITORIAL: Typographical or other factual error needing
correction.(This type of change will be made without feedback to submitter.)
The 26 RIDS are all, I believe, marked as Recommendations.
I think it is fair to say that these comments are from a viewpoint of a more
general systems approach and are trying to make suggestions to align OAIS
terminology with that from a different, perhaps broader, community, and from
other CCSDS publications. Some comments may arise from misunderstandings and
others may be very helpful. They all need careful consideration and feedback
should be provided to CCSDS.
Please take a look at these and provide comments if possible, We can touch
base on these on Tuesday.
Regards
..David
