[Moims-dai] Latest draft of OAIS

I’ve come across this message again and I’m not sure if I ever replied to
it.  So to close the loop, I will respond now.

 

I am attaching the latest OAIS draft.  I believe I have reflected your
requested updates in it.  However as you note, once this update is complete,
that information will moved out of the document where it is almost
immediately out of date.  The information is being moved to a website where
this information will be disseminated.

Dear John,

 

I am a member of the OAIS Working Group of the German nestor network, and we
contributed some suggestions to the OAIS revision. Among other things we
suggested to include additional standards in “1.5 Roadmap for the
development of related standards”. It is our understanding that related
standards will now be listed on a webpage referenced in Annex B, which we
think is a good solution. 

 

I noticed that in the OAIS draft which you kindly made available via the
Moims-dai mailing list, the list in section “standard(s) for certification
of Archives” in Annex B mentions DIN 31645:2011-11 rather than DIN
31644:2012 “Information and documentation - Criteria for trustworthy digital
archives”. The latter is the certification standard that from our
perspective should be mentioned in this section along with the
CoreTrustSeal. 

 

The standard currently mentioned, 31645:2011-11, can be included under
“standard(s) for the submission (ingest) of digital data sources to the
Archive”. 

 

Would it be possible for you to pass this request on to the responsible
CCSDS working group, or can you advise me who best to contact?
