Hi JohnAs I recall the digital vellum made the point that things written on vellum were readable hundreds of years later.The point I made was that even if one wrote the numbers from a data file on vellum it would not be usable years later or even right noe because there would be no semantics with the numbers - do they represent temperature, pressure etc and what units?David

Hi David, I haven’t looked into what he is proposing.  Perhaps you could provide us with some ideas of what ideas you passed on to him previously and then we can reinforce them.I’m assuming that Digital Vellum could be good solution for the publications subset of the archival problem. I also would be interested in attending a DAI WG Meeting at GSFC on April 4th and in attending Vint Cerf's talk the same day, but would need to obtain formal travel approval to attend these events and also would need to be able to gain admittance to GSFC.
