John,
Thanks for this. I'm sorry you'll be missing the meeting this time but I hope that you and Fred will get funding in time for the spring meeting.
My preference is also to include the new Annex with the other updates rather than issue an intermediate version.
Howie, I assume you want to come to the CSRM WG to discuss the security sections. Do you know if you'll be available to do this on the Tuesday morning? If not, when could you make it?
Best regards,
Hugh

Hugh,
As you are aware, this past summer the SLE transfer service Blue Books were updated to include the newly-mandatory security section. The Blue Books still refer to Annex F of the CSRM, but the current (G-2) version of Annex F does not quite match reality. In addition to drafting the security sections for the transfer service books, I was funded to draft an updated version Annex F of the CSRM that corrects the errors and also moves away from the terminology of the old Service Management Red Book.
The draft of the Annex is contained in the attached zip file, along with the original PowerPoint figures should they be useful. (The file is labeled ".piz" because more and more mail servers are automatically deleting zip attachments. Simply change the extension to ".zip" and unzip it).
I had originally intended to include it in a G-3 version of the complete CSRM, so that it could be available on the CCSDS web site concurrent with the new versions of the transfer service blue books. However, the new TS versions have not yet been posted, and the WG will be considering other changes as well at the meeting next month. As of now I think it best to send it to you and the CSRM WG as a stand-alone Annex for incorporation into the update coming out of the next meeting, rather than creating and posting an intermediate G-3 that has limited lifetime. However, if anyone thinks that it is important to immediately put out a G-3 that only updates Annex F, they should make those thoughts known.
Unfortunately, as of now it does not look as though I will be attending the Toulouse meeting, so I cannot participate and explain this rewrite in person. If there are any questions or concerns I will be able to respond by email.
Best regards,
John

Dear colleagues,
Here is the proposed agenda for the CSRM WG:
Monday - present status and objectives for the workshop, check availability of resources to do the work
Tuesday am - Agree text for security section of the Reference Model
Tuesday pm/Wed/Thu/Fri (bar plenaries and BOFs) - Update the Concept Book
Please note that we need to try and complete the Concept Book updates during the week, so we need to dedicate some real resources to this activity. This will not require the whole CSRM membership for the whole time but it does mean that we will need the available CSRM membership to take some time out of the other WGs to work on specific areas of the Concept Book. We can agree who does what on the first day.
The overall aim will now be to release the RM and Concept books together, hopefully at the same time as the Service Management books.
See you in Toulouse.
Best regards,
Hugh
