Dear CDDS Colleagues,
Some updates before our March 11 telecon #2 and a request for your review.
Concept Book
After doing some cleanup and a read-through, the Concept Book draft 2 is in my mind ready to go for AD review: 930x0g-draft-2.docx<https://spacecomm.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/sites/CSS/Shared%20Documents/CSS-CLOUD/Draft%20Documents/ConceptBook/930x0g-draft-2.docx?d=w37e6569186c043f09b3a7627de19f280&csf=1&web=1&e=hnfqRc>
It would be great if you could do review and provide feedback until before the telecon #2, such that we can take a decision in n March 11.
New Orange Book
To speed up the publication process, and as discussed last time, a CDDS Orange Book has been created based on Blue Book Draft 1: 931x10-O-draft-1.docx<https://spacecomm.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/sites/CSS/Shared%20Documents/CSS-CLOUD/Draft%20Documents/OrangeBook/931x10-O-draft-1.docx?d=wf40071f9a7574d65828a95064af8f382&csf=1&web=1&e=fYYCwc>
The CDDS Orange Book contains in addition two annexes for gRPC TC and TM services. The idea is to turn / shift the Orange Book into a Blue Book once we can complete the prototyping for the Blue Book. The Blue Book won’t contain the RPC M and TC services; they shall remain in the Orange Book. At the same time the Blue Book is published, the proposal is to update the Orange Book as well to eliminate the material shifted to the Blue Book.
If you have and comments to the approach and of course the Orange Book, please provide them latest for the telecon#2 March11.
CDDS GitHub https://github.com/CCSDS-CDDS/cdds.messages
The CDDS GitHub repository has now gRPC service definitions for the TM and TC as described in the CDDS Orange Book. In addition a little prototype for the TC service as jUnit test is available. That test realizes security based on (self-signed) certificates, that may be interesting. The security approach is also documented in the Orange Book for gRPC services.
Best regards,
Holger
