Dear CCSDS Management Council Members,

As you know, CNSA extended an invitation to hold the Spring 2026 CMC meeting in China. Yesterday, I was informed via the email below that NASA will not be sending any delegates to the meeting in person. This includes me, the Chair, as I am funded by NASA.

With that, I need to poll all members as to whether you can or cannot attend the meeting in-person or virtually.

Please reply to me only and I will add up the votes. Please complete this request this week.

Thank you
Sami

Subject: On Spring CMC 2026

Dear Sami and Xiongwen He,

After careful consideration by our management at NASA SCaN, it has been decided that SCaN won’t be sending anyone in person to the CMC meeting if hosted in China. Since I oversee the NASA delegation funded by SCaN, I was asked to communicate this. If the meeting is hosted at CNSA and there is virtual attendance, we would need to work with the appropriate NASA folks to ensure any guidelines for this are met.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can understand.

Regards,
Shannon Rodriguez/ NASA Data Standards Manager
