Hi Mariella,

My apologies to you and the other CMC members.  I should know better than to have tried to treat this as a poll.  I blame jet lag.  🙃

What was really required was that I send a polite request to you and the other CMC members to offer up any potential candidates that you might have for the Time Management WG Chair position.  Sinda Mejri, the current Deputy WG Chair is one potential candidate.  There may be others at ESA, NASA, or elsewhere.  Please provide the names of any candidates and their resumes.

The normal process for WG chairs, as is documented in the CCSDS Org & Proc doc, A02.1-Y-4, is this…

2.3.3.4   Working Group Chairs

For existing WGs requiring a replacement chair or deputy chair, the respective AD may propose a candidate. For both new and replacement chairs and deputy chairs, in the interest of fairness, the respective AD shall also invite the CMC via e-mail to propose additional candidates and potential resources. For new WGs, the CMC shall be allowed 14 calendar days to respond to such invitations; for existing WGs, the CMC shall be allowed 30 calendar days to respond. The respective AD shall determine nominees based on the proposed candidates, and final appointment of chairs and deputy chairs shall be accomplished by CESG poll.

Thanks.  I should have checked the procedures doc myself.   For as many years as I have been doing this I still need reminders.

Related to that last comment, and for all of you new CMC members (and even for the “old” ones), I strongly suggest you take a few minutes to read the sections of CCSDS A02.1-Y-4 that pertain to your duties and responsibilities as CMC members.   I’d call your particular attention to Sec 2.3.1 (CMC responsibilities), sec 4.1 (Participation & Member Agencies), sec 5.1.3 (CMC resolutions), sec 5.2.2 (CMC Meetings), sec 5.3 (Voting), Sec 6.2 (CMC Document approval), and Annex G (Consensus).
