Dear Michael,

I would like to let you know of ESA's intention to nominate Dr. Klaus-Juergen Schulz as ESA candidate for the CESG Chair position.

Klaus-Juergen is a very well known and internationally recognised expert in the area of Space Communications and Ground Station Systems and is the Head of the Station Systems Division in the Ground Systems Engineering and Innovation Department. He has been for many years participating in both the CCSDS and the IOAG organisations and is among many other activities managing for ESA the development of deep space antennas as well as passive and laser-based optical systems. He is also participating to the definition of the future communications architecture required for all future ESA missions and defining the roadmap for the implementation of these complex systems.

His background and expertise are summarised in the attached Bio.
