I'm of mixed opinion on a Wiki.

If the wiki DOES NOT duplicate material that can easily be found elsewhere on the CCSDS web site, then it might be OK (particularly if people can pose questions to the Wiki and get answers... but there might be better software vehicles for such Q&A type applications).

If the wiki DOES duplicate material that can easily be found elsewhere on the CCSDS web site, then I am NOT in favor of it.  It can be guaranteed that material will be out of sync if it appears in multiple places, particularly given the perennial problems acquiring agency resources for standards development... now we have the main site, the CWE, the Blog, and possibly a Wiki?  From a quick review it is clear that some material is duplicated in several of these sites already.  We can probably provide most of that same info on the CWE or on the main CCSDS tabs.

Given what I've seen on the prototype wiki, I'm therefore not in favor.

The CMC placed upon the CESG Chairs the following action

CMC-A-2014-11-20        The CESG Chair was asked to confer with WG chairs and check their endorsement of the wiki forum approach.

Due Date: Spring 2015 CMC meeting
Status: Open


The wiki's main goal is to help the public with access to information about CCSDS technology. This will evolve into a customer support tool for users of CCSDS standards.

The WIKI Forum (be aware that there isn’t an official forum yet) is here:

If no response from the WG chairs / deputy chairs is received by mid March 2015. it is assumed that you fully support the wiki initiative
