[CMC Alert] RE: CMC Action Items from Nagano

Bonjour,

Note: it is assumed the action items below address the two lists submitted by Nestor with projects missing resources, either to complete or to start work.
While the wording of the actions doesn't match exactly the contents of the two slides, CNES has attempted to provide a feedback on both of them.

As a result of the CNES internal resource assignment meeting held last week, please find here below the CNES answers to the following action items:


CMC-A-2015-05-09


The CMC members were instructed to consider their own or other resources (universities, crowd-sourcing, research budgets) to develop prototypes for projects that lack them, taking into account the list developed by Nestor (14 projects that lack resources).

CNES answer to action CMC-A-2015-05-09:

Out of the list of 14 projects, CNES cannot allocate additional resources for the following reasons:

SEA Security WG              Symmetric Key Management                                     Not a CNES priority.
MOIMS DAI WG               DEDSL XML Schema                                                        CNES is already committed on Prototype 1.
MOIMS NAV WG             ADM 5 year review                                                         CNES is already committed on Prototype 1.
Hardware Message                                                         Not a CNES priority.
Pointing Request Message                                          Not a CNES priority.
Spacecraft Maneuver Message                                 Not a CNES priority.
MOIMS SM&C WG          http transport and XML encoding                             No CNES resources available.
Data Product Distribution Services                           No CNES resources available.
TCP/IP Transport and Binary encoding                    No CNES resources available.
Zero MQ transport and binary encoding                CNES is already committed on Prototype 1.
MOIMS Telerobotics WG
Telerobotics BB                                                                 Not a CNES priority.
SLS Space Data Link Security Protocol WG
Extended Procedures                                                    CNES is already committed on Prototype 1.
SIS DTN WG                        Bundle Security Protocol                                              Not a CNES priority.

CNES will continue to explore means to involve other external resources.


CMC-A-2015-05-10


The CMC members were requested to consider providing resources for prototyping of projects taking into account the list developed by Nestor, and specifically concentrating on the three projects identified as top priorities: Symmetric Key Management (Prototype 1; 3 WM), DEDSL XML Schema (Prototype 2; 2 WM), and CSS File Transfer (Prototype 1 and 2; 4 WM total).

Out of the list of other projects, CNES will allocate resources to the following ones:

CSS SM Planning Data: Prototype 1 and 2                                                              No CNES resources available.
CSS Generic File Transfer: Prototype 1 and 2                                                       CNES will support one prototype from 2016.

With this list and the previous one, CNES answers positively to 2 / 3 of the identified top priority projects.
