[CMC Alert] CCSDS Review of CCSDS 871.3-R-1, Spacecraft Onboard Interface Services­Device Enumeration Service

The following draft CCSDS Recommended Practice has been placed on 
line for CCSDS Agency review:

        CCSDS 871.3-R-1.  Spacecraft Onboard Interface Services--
                          Device Enumeration Service.  Red Book.
                          June 2013.

DOCUMENT DESCRIPTION:  This draft Recommended Practice defines 
services and service interfaces provided by the Spacecraft Onboard 
Interface Services Device Enumeration Service (DES), which provides 
management and user notification of addition of devices to or removal 
of devices from a spacecraft. The main goal of DES is to assist 
onboard reconfiguration functions, such as mode management or fault 
detection, isolation, and recovery regarding the notification of 
changes in the spacecraft configuration, and the execution of 
operations needed to adjust the onboard software to the new configuration.

The due date for receipt of Agency review comments by the Review 
Coordinator is 2013-8-13.  More information is available at the Web
