[CMC E-Poll Alert] CMC POLL - Cross Support Services (CSS) Deputy Area Director (AD) Position

In response the CCSDS Management Council action item CMC -A-0412-006, the CCSDS Secretariat is soliciting nominations for the open Cross Support Services (CSS) Deputy Area Director (AD) position.  Keeping in mind that a candidate for selection as an AD must be recognized as a leading technical expert in the field covered by that Area and must have extensive prior experience leading a specific standards development task within the CCSDS, such as having served as a Working Group Chair or Deputy Chair; and recognizing that, in the Area Director's absence, the deputy AD must be capable of fulfilling the roll of the Area Director, it is recommended that the person nominated for the deputy AD position possess the same qualifications as required for the AD.

	Title: Cross Support Services (CSS) Deputy Area Director (AD) Position 
	A deputy AD appointment is considered a CESG position.  Appointments are made by the the CMC for a two year period .  Nominations for CESG positions are made by the Principal Delegates from the Agencies.  Appointees may come from any organization and do not have to be employees of space Agencies.  All CESG appointees must have a sponsor who will commit to support their salary and travel to CESG and Area coordination meetings.
