INPE re-affirms (see ATTACHMENT 02/02) its original proposal for further
revision of the terms of the CCSDS Charter by the CMC, based on its previous
suggestions, as already expressed in the second file
<CurrentCCSDSCharter.Inpe.Review.doc> attached to this current message (the
word "corss" is, now, corrected to "cross"...), under a new deadline,
possibly, by the time of the coming CMC meeting, in Toulouse, after the
opportune observation from CNES that such a further review may naturally
require a considerable amount of exchange of comments among the Council
members.

Revision of the CCSDS Charter

On 19 August 2004, the following message was sent to the voting members of the
CMC:

Proposal to Revise the CCSDS Charter

The CCSDS Secretariat requests that the CMC Members review and approve or
disapprove a proposed change to the CCSDS Charter (as indicated in the
attached file).  In addition to the indicated change, respondents are
encouraged to take this opportunity to suggest other possible revisions.

Please provide your response to secretariat at ccsds.org by 5 September 2004.

A "non-response" to this message will be taken as your agreement to the
proposed change.

As of the 5 September due date, positive responses to the proposed charter
change had been received from CNES, INPE, and NASA.  No other responses to
this request were received (either positive or negative).  The proposed
charter change is therefore accepted and the revised charter is attached to
this message for your convenience.

2004, in respect to the CCSDS Charter, as attached.

In respect to INPE suggestions for change in the CCSDS Charter, as also
previously expressed in the attached message and file, INPE re-addresses the
issue proposing to the CCSDS CMC that they may be opportunely considered for
discussion, no later than the next CMC meeting, to be held in Toulouse. In
this case, it would also be naturally expected that other, possible and
eventual suggestions may also be proposed by other CCSDS Members.
