The following Draft CCSDS Recommended Standard has been placed on-line and
is available for Formal Agency Review:

CCSDS 122.0-R-1.  Image Data Compression.  Red Book

Document Description:  This recommendation addresses image data compression,
which is applicable to a wide range of space-borne digital data, where the
requirement is for a scalable data reduction, including the option to use
lossy compression, which allows some loss of fidelity in the process of data
compression and decompression.

The due date for receipt of review comments by the Review Coordinators is
2004-12-1.  More information is available at the Web site identified below.
