[CMC] CMC impact from Berlin Registration process

Dear CMC members:  This is important information that you need
concerning your actions required for registration of people from your
agency for the meetings in Berlin in October.   

 

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:   

*         In Japan, the CMC decided we needed to have better approval of
meeting attendees.

*         The online registration system has been modified to do this:

*         Whenever a person registers for the CCSDS meeting, he selects
an "agency".   

*         After he registers, the system automatically sends an email to
the agency's CMC member (you!).  

*         You have five days to respond to the secretariat if you do
*not* want this person to come to the meeting.  This will cancel his
registration.  

*         If you do nothing, the registration is kept, and the person
gets to come to the meeting.   

 

MORE DETAILS:

 

So, with that system, when your people start registering, you will get
an email for every person that registers.   If you want to "reject"
their registration, you must notify the secretariat within 5 days.  We
encourage you to do it as soon as possible, so your people will know
whether or not to make their travel arrangements.  Some people may be
buying tickets with cancellation penalties, so if you have a problem
with their attendance, you need to let them know as soon as possible.   

 

*Important*:  If you do nothing within 5 days, the attendee is
automatically approved.   

 

Keep in mind that the costs for hosting a meeting is increasing, so we
want to discourage attendance from personnel that do not significantly
contribute to the meetings, or do not help your agency with their
attendance.
