[CESG-R-0411-001]
[MOIMS-R-0411-DAI-001]	CNES will clarify if there is really a request to CCSDS to transmit a French translation of the OAIS Reference Model to ISO for approval as a second official ISO-recognized version of the document (expected to be available in early 2005).

Answer :
The translation to French of the OAIS document has been prepared by a group including CNES contributors to the Working Group plus some experts in translation (from Bibliothèque de France - French National Library). The document is about to be completed (in one or two weeks from now).
The basic idea is to have very soon this translated document made available on the CCSDS Web site, under a free access.
If any later change or modification, CNES is ready to take care of the maintenance of the document.

Concerning the submission to ISO of the French translation, as the document is already an International Standard (Ref.: 14721 : 2003), it is not expected that the CCSDS document is submitted through the TC-20 SC-13. It seems that this agrees with the ISO rules.
Rather, the French delegates at ISO (i.e. the BNAE) will take into account that action and will submit the document as the translated document validated by France. Of course, the SC-13 will be kept informed of the progress of such action.

Considering the above, the answer to the action item is "no", it is not required for CCSDS to submit the document to ISO.

I hope this answers the question.

Best regards
