This seems a good idea..
However, we might want to think about how we distinguish "must have" and "convenient" data items.
Over the years, I've suffered from the "let's just add this piece of meta data" philosophy to all sorts of databases (allow me to hurl imprecations at our drawing management system at JPL, which requires countless pieces of metadata, most of which are not useful to me), ultimately leading to more complex and time consuming updates.
The other question is one of "what's the golden source of data"? Is this a piece of data that is officially kept elsewhere? Does ITU have a registry... I know countries have their licensing, and I think there's an ITU database of frequencies for missions, perhaps not public. And if it's not public, that brings up some issues:
1.
If we capture that information in a SANA registry, can it be public?
2.
If it's not public for a reason, what's the reason (cyber security through obscurity, perhaps)? And is that reason appropriate for us as well?
3.
How do we maintain referential integrity (that is, the same data in two places is consistent)?
Jim

Dear all,
Hoping that you are all doing well, please find here my answer to the following action item (from last-week CESG meeting’s minutes) related to Q-SCID, with the attached slides contributing to this answer.
* Frequency Authority Registry: Confirm the requester’s intended use of the frequency-authority field and report back before deciding whether to add it to the SANA registry. (Jean-Luc)
The requester’s intended use of the frequency-authority would be, in case of interference created by the SCID transmitting satellite, to facilitate the identification of the Administration of the interfering satellite, since such identification is stated by articles 15.34 and 15.35 of the ITU Radio Regulation.
As a reminder, this suggestion is not related to update SCID broadcasted by the satellite, but well to add a few fields in SANA’s Q-SCID registries.
What do you think ? looking forward discussing about it in Matera, since Daniel you put this subject in the preliminary topic list for next CESG meeting.
Have a nice day; BR
Jean-Luc
