>From my view, Tomaso has stated the process correctly. I believe there are multiple vague "corners" in the CCSDS procedures that were all being addressed by Tom Gannett. It strikes me that we could have some smaller yellow books for specific processes that are generally defined in the current yellow book. For example, there could be a yellow book specifically targeted for conducting agency reviews. This would not be about how an agency conducts its review, but rather about the artifacts and information from the CCSDS perspective surrounding a review such as identifying the overall review coordinator, agency review coordinator points of contact, ensuring that all RIDs submitted have a disposition, etc.

I will note that this of course requires some effort and very likely no one on this email has the availability to work this. But maybe as a step in the right direction, perhaps we could ask the secretariat to list the steps they take for mounting an agency review, etc.

Best regards,
-Erik

Clause 6.2.5.2 addresses the case of multiple agency reviews for a given normative document (blue or magenta), though the description of the process is a bit vague in my opinion. As to the RIDs, we take track of all received RIDs and how these are dispositioned (they can be even rejected) with the confirmation/satisfaction from the RID originator. This evidence has then to be provided to the secretariat when we move on to the publication to make sure that nothing was overlooked and that the CESG poll can be actually implemented.

I'm not sure there is a process defined for "second agency review" - Let me check the current book.
Are you thinking that there's a RID and the originator needs to agree?

Yes, that exists in some sense, I'll find the section

There is a timelimit for conditional approvals in CESG/CMC polls, too.
If someone conditionally approves, there's a 60 day limit to submit the changes. When the changes are submitted the conditional approver has 30 days to respond that they are or are not satisfied. If they do nothing, after 30 days, it's deemed approved.

Hi Tomaso,

Here is the updated diagram.

Do you know the condition under which the "second and subsequent agency reviews" are triggered?

Hi Simon,

Just a minor comment (if I understand correctly the diagram): for the second and subsequent agency reviews currently no CESG approval poll is taking place. This is happening only for the first agency review (RED-1).

Regards,

Tomaso
