Thank you, Tomaso,

You make very good points. I would like the CMC to get a formal recommendation from the CESG, that you have just triggered.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [CMC] [CCSDS-SIS] SIS-R-2025-05-01: Merge of MIA and VOICE into a new WG called MIVA

Dear CCSDS Secretariat,

In quality of SIS Area Director:

1.	Given the lack of leadership in the SIS-VOICE WG since a few years already
2.	Given the fact that no imminent or urgent new projects are going to be opened in the SIS VOICE WG
3.	Given the fact that the 5-year review of the SIS VOICE WG will be taken over by the SIS MIA WG
4.	Given the fact that the MIA and VOICE WG agree on the merging the two working groups under the present leadership of the MIA WG, an updated charter of the MIA WG has been prepared and the proposal for a merged group taking the name of MIVA (MOTION IMAGERY AND VOICE APPLICATIONS) agreed, which is herewith attached.
5.	I request to conduct the necessary CMC/CESG polls towards the approval of this merge, eventually resulting with the MIA and VOICE WG activities to be performed from now on in the newly formed MIVA WG under the leadership of the current MIA WG.

Thank you in advance for your effort,

Best Regards,

Tomaso
