I also agree. @Daniel.Fischer at esa.int<mailto:Daniel.Fischer at esa.int>: can we address the point of making CCSDS stable technical documents available through the CCSDS website at the next CESG telco? This may introduce a new process in the overall CCSDS publication framework, but this is something will return useful to the entire CCSDS community and in general to space ecosystem.

I think BP7 should be CMC polled and made publically available as technically complete draft in view of absence of editor(s) and conidering the need of the user community.
I also think we need a way to make a technically complete draft available to the public or at least a serious discussion on the topic. Both IETF and ISO provide such drafts. It is detrimental to CCSDS’s reputation if we are not able to provide timely responses.

Dear All,

I haven’t see any reaction on this, can we please reach a decision soon on the next steps otherwise the BPv7 orange book will stay in a limbo for long?
As a matter of fact, as emerged during the last internal DTN WG telco last week, it would be even better to publish the current version of the draft book as it is now, in order to meet the requests from some contractors from the Lunar programmes. I don’t know however whether this is possible at all, since the current publication process of CCSDS is such that we don’t have tools like in IETF for allowing the publication of internet-drafts (I-Ds) or that of 3GPP to make available the intermediate versions of a standard before the actual final publication within a release.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Best Regards,

Tomaso

Subject: [CCSDS] BPv7 orange book ready for CMC poll

Dear All,

As already mentioned in previous exchanges, the RIDs raised by Ignacio during the CESG poll have been fully dispositioned in a new version of BPv7 Orange book, which in quality of SIS AD I’ve now approved. In light of this, the next step is now to instruct a CMC poll towards the publication approval of the book (whose clean version you can find herewith attached).
As already mentioned to Brian, my proposal would be to perform all the necessary final cosmetics on the document after the document is approved at CMC level, in order not to waste additional time now.

Best Regards,

Tomaso
