SEA Resolution - SEA-R-2024-11-02 Request Publication of Magenta Book corrigendum to CCSDS Spacecraft Identification Field Code Assignment Procedures, 320.0-M-7

The CCSDS Systems Engineering Area (SEA) Area Director,

CONSIDERING that the CCSDS Engineering Steering Group (CESG) has:

  *   Agreed to update the AOS Spacecraft Identification code field (SCID) in the AOS Link Layer document CCSDS 732.0-P-4.2 from 8 bits to 10 bits, and
  *   The SCID field code assignment procedures documented in CCSDS 320.0-M-7 must also be updated to reflect the new code field size, and that
  *   This change can be effected via a Corrigendum, and that
  *   The CESG concurred that this was a necessary change to this Magenta Book.

And CONSIDERING that the SEA Area Director was requested to update this section and to publish it as a Corrigendum and that this update is attached hereto.

RESOLVES to request The Secretariat to process the attached final draft of this document and to send it for CESG, and then CMC, approval to publish.

RECOMMENDS that the CESG and CMC approve this resolution and, finally

REQUESTS that a CESG poll, and then a CMC poll, be conducted to approve Publication of this update as a CCSDS Corrigendum.
